Axel Threlfall, Editor at Large, Reuters* will be moderating the day’s packed agenda featuring 13 high-level speakers, including; President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the Secretary-General of the OECD, Angel Gurría.

Topics to be discussed by political leaders include:

  • A transformative recovery: Forging a new consensus for economic, social and environmental progress
  • The case for collective action: Multilateralism in the current global context
  • The global role of the oecd: 60 years of better policies for better lives

The OECD is reaching its 60th Anniversary in a unique and challenging context. Additionally, a Stakeholder’s Panel on 15 December, 12:00-13:30 (CET)  will bring together representatives from international organisations, private sector, civil society and academia, including former government leaders for a discussion on multilateralism and the need for collective action across a wide range of stakeholders to “build back better” in the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis.
